Last year, I took part in the CEO Sleepout and it changed me.
It was the most meaningful night of my year. I saw the care and commitment, the real help Vinnies gives to people doing it tough. I knew I’d never miss another one for as long as I live.
People become homeless for so many reasons.
A man who lost his wife and children in a car accident, depressed with no mental capacity left to keep his job or his home.
A young person raised by adults who couldn’t even care for themselves.
What happens to them? Many are left to survive on their own.
It’s hard for so many Australians to keep a roof over their heads, especially in our harsh climate. My heart goes out to them.
Just yesterday, a man slept outside our shop. We saw him pack up his few belongings and sweep the spot where he’d slept. He looked and smiled at us. And in that moment, we were reminded, there are so many beautiful souls doing it tough.
If the shoe were on the other foot, I believe many would help us too.
If you could manage, even just a little, all money helps so much. Vinnie’s spend our donations exceptionally well i believe. I had a conversation with the CEO of Vinnie’s last year. What a good man!
We are making a difference. And the number of Perth people stepping up to help is mind-blowing.
Thank you, Vinnies. And thank you, kind people of Perth.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support.
