Get behind our team in the CEO Sleepout to help end homelessness
Having a safe place to sleep at night is a basic human right and it aligns to Southern Cross Care Queensland's mission that values and respects human life. Yet right now, more than 116,000 Australians are sleeping on our streets each night. Of these, 60% are under 35, 44% are women and shockingly, 13% are under 12 years old. Homelessness is a modern tragedy that can affect anyone at any time, and that's why our team are participating in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
On Thursday 23 June, our team including Sandra Glaister, Mark Botsford, Michael Hart, Michael Wild, Scott Norton, Adam Priest and myself, Jason Eldering, will walk in the shoes of the homeless, sleeping rough at Brisbane's Riverstage in an effort to urgently raise our target of $40,000.
Please help us raise this vital money for emergency beds, food and support programs to help get vulnerable Queensland families off the streets and into safe homes today. We would be so grateful if you could please dig deep and give what you can, every dollar helps.
