Participating in their 7th Vinnies CEO Sleepout
One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference
Homelessness, unfortunately, is an issue that the Gold Coast has been wrestling with for some time. In previous years have had the privilege to be an ambassador and participate every year since the Gold Coast CEO Sleepout began. The issue of homelessness is something that is important to me and the electorate, that is why I will be participating in this years CEO Sleepout.
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. For one night, I'll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.
In January 2021 approximately 26,000 applications were on the social housing waitlist including 16,000 that are considered urgent. This same waitlist includes more than 2,700 families from the Gold Coast and it is only getting larger.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support. Will you help me to reach my target? Donating 50 dollars can make a huge difference to people who need it most.
