One night outside. A lifetime of perspective.
I took part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout a couple of years ago, and it genuinely stayed with me.
Sleeping outside for one night was uncomfortable, but the real eye-opener was listening to the stories of people who have experienced homelessness. It reminded me that homelessness is not just a statistic. It is real people, real families, real struggles, and often, circumstances that could happen to anyone.
This year, I’m taking part again to raise funds for the St Vincent de Paul Society and to support Australians who need help, dignity and hope when life gets incredibly tough.
One night isn’t a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference.
