One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness, and the truth is, homelessness can happen to anyone. It doesn’t discriminate. A job loss, a health crisis, family violence, or an unexpected life event can quickly turn someone’s world upside down.
While homelessness is often seen as a big city issue, it’s a growing and very real challenge in regional areas too. I want to shine a spotlight on what’s happening in our own region, because people here deserve support, dignity, and hope just as much as anyone else.
This year, I’m taking part in the Vinnies CEO SLEEO OUT to raise funds for the St Vincent de Paul Society.
On the 18th of June, I will be spending the night sleeping outdoors at Adelaide Zoo, in the elements, alongside a group of other compassionate leaders. It’s just one night of discomfort for us, but it represents the harsh reality faced every day by so many vulnerable people in our community. That single night has the ability to contribute to meaningful, lasting change for those doing it tough.
But this is about more than just one night. My goal is to raise awareness and help bring more attention, and hopefully more funding into our regional community by supporting an organisation which is on the ground making a real difference. I’ll be creating a page and sharing updates along the way so you can follow the journey, see the impact, and stay connected to the cause.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support.
Any donation, no matter the size, helps create real change. It’s not about how much one person gives, it’s about what we can achieve together.
If 500 people simply donated the cost of their morning coffee, we would not only reach my $4,000 target, we’d absolutely smash it!
That’s the power of living in a regional community. Small, everyday gestures can add up to life changing support for someone in need.
So whether it’s $5, $10, $50 or $100, every dollar brings us closer to making a meaningful difference right here in our region.
Will you help me reach, and exceed my $4,000 goal?
Thank you for standing with me, and for standing with those in our community who need us most.
Jessie
