One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference

I am proud to be representing Ozcare Board in the 2026 Vinnies CEO Sleepout on Thursday, 18 June. This year, I am raising funds to support the St Vincent de Paul Society and their extraordinary work assisting elderly, vulnerable women at risk of or experiencing homelessness across Queensland.

The housing crisis is forcing more people across greater Brisbane into homelessness than ever before. Every night, too many women find themselves without a safe place to sleep, and when someone reaches out for help, there’s often not enough emergency accommodation available.

But homelessness is about more than not having a roof over your head.

It’s about losing access to the everyday things many of us take for granted: clean clothes, a hot shower, a secure place to rest, or even a physical address.

Throughout my time with both Ozcare and Vinnie’s, I’ve seen firsthand the exceptional impact these services have; a warm meal, a compassionate conversation, and a renewed sense of hope.
