The Vinnies Sleepout is one way where together we can make a significant difference to many families' lives
Over the last ten years years we have seen substantial new housing developments across the city yet Canberra still has a significant homeless problem with the cost of housing beyond many families and nationally more than a 100,000 Australians experience homelessness. Safe, sound and secure housing is a fundamental human right and the key to addressing poverty and social inequality.
The Vinnies Sleepout is a great way to make a practical difference to many of our fellow Canberrans who desperately need support and I'm happy to be involved again. This year as well as sleeping out I am walking 790kms - you can find out more here:
Just $200 could relocate and establish a homeless person into one of the Society’s homeless accommodation services.
So far this year I helped provide
Individual support programs
Funds raised over the years
Go well David! Meg Daly
I would like to participate in Camino walk as well. Maybe Mt Arawang to Kambah pool.
See you there Dave, great work 🙌🙌🙌❄️
Happy to support this excellent cause to raise awareness of an issue that is often overlooked in Canberra.

Go for it David......I think I've helped you reach your funding goal😁. Glad the Pink Arrows are giving you incentive to get out of bed at 5am......or is your better half kicking you out🤣🤣🤣
Senator, this is a tough thing to do and I am stoked you are doing it. A former leader in the APS, Neville Tomkin is doing it for Scouts. He's a good egg; he once sent himself under cover into operational areas to ask ADF members about what their needs were. He did it because he wanted an honest view of their needs. I am lucky to have two people in my life that are doing this challenge.
Well done Dave!!
Well done Dave.
Good on you Dave!
Keep up the good work in Canberra, David
Well done Dave on both the sleepout and your Camino. And also on a brilliant first speech in the Senate.
Stay warm David!
