One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference
People who become homeless are simply people who by various experiences and sometimes failure by society find themselves without a roof over their heads. They are PEOPLE!
Although I will be 77 by the time of Sleepout 2026, I am so aware that there are many people my age and older who are not sure if they will have a roof over their heads tonight. Volunteering at the Vinnies Support Centre in Nambour, we talk with people in this position each week. Last year a gentleman approached us on the beach and asked if he could join the group as he had nowhere to sleep that night wanted the safety of the group - great motivation for us to see what we can do to help.
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way.
For just one night of discomfort and some fundraising effort, with your help, we could help someone have some stable accommodation. I'll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support. Will you help me to reach my target? Donating $100 can make a huge difference to people who need it most.
