One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness — but it doesn’t have to be that way.
This year, I’ll again be taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to support the important work of the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Australians they help every day. On one winter night, I’ll be sleeping outside alongside others, as part of an experience that brings home the realities of homelessness in a very direct and confronting way.
It’s a small gesture in the scheme of things, but one that helps raise awareness of an issue that affects far too many people in our communities — often through circumstances beyond their control.
For those who choose to support the cause, it can make a real difference. Even a contribution of $100 can help provide practical support to someone in need — whether that’s a meal, a safe place to stay, or a step towards stability.
