One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference

This year, for the third time, I am taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. It saddens me to think that every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness.

For one night, I'll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.

I will be doing this knowing I am safe — not at risk of assault, mugging or theft. I will be uncomfortable sleeping on cardboard (I know this from previous years), but I also know I can go home the next morning to a hot coffee, breakfast and a shower… and continue with my life.

I am hopeful that by taking part, I can help raise awareness and support for those facing hardships I have been fortunate enough to never experience myself.
