What to expect

Starting at 6:00pm, you’ll arrive and be joined by many special people. People who’ve lived through the harsh realities of homelessness and poverty, as well as Vinnies NT Members, Volunteers and Staff who work with resilient Territorians every day. Plus meet other like-minded CEO’s, Business and Community Leaders, all looking to make a change to the critical homelessness situation in the NT. Expect a light supper, workshop activities and conversations that inspire, inform, and give opportunities to understand more about poverty and homelessness in the Northern Territory.

What happens?

It's a sleepout... and you'll do much more than sleep! You will be given a taste of the homelessness experience and take a walk in different shoes.

You’ll have the chance to ask questions and make powerful connections. Meet people who have experienced homelessness and hear how easy it is to land on tough times. Learn how our Vinnies Team has supported disadvantaged people and discover St Vincent de Paul Society NT Programs and where your money goes.

FYI - there’s no way to truly prepare for an evening like this. Just know there’s plenty of support on hand and a wonderful community of leaders ready to experience this with you.

What to bring:

  • Appropriate clothing.
  • A sleeping bag.
  • A pillow (Vinnies will be hosting a pillow sale if you’d like to lighten your load).
  • Your fully charged phone to capture the experience and post on Socials.

What not to bring:

  • Luxury bedding, blow-up mattress, yoga mats.
  • Your own food – you’ll be served a basic dinner and brekky.
  • There’s water, tea and coffee available.

Is parking available on-site?

Yes! Plenty of car parking available and Wilson’s Security will be on site.
