2020 Event Update

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is our biggest fundraising event of the year. The funds raised each year ensure we can continue to run our homelessness services, providing a hand up to people in need all over Australia.

In its 15th year, the event is faced with a great challenge shared by so many people across the globe. COVID-19 has meant that all of us have had to adjust the way we do things – the way we do business, the way we socialise and the way we help others.

So, given the importance of keeping our supporters, the people we assist, our staff and volunteers safe, this year the Vinnies CEO Sleepout is transforming into an interactive online event.

Participants will nominate an alternate sleeping option during the registration process and will share the experience through an interactive live stream program, logging in with others all around the country.

How to be part of the 2020 Vinnies CEO Sleepout on the 18th June:

1. If you haven’t already, we ask that you register today and set up your profile.

2. When registering, nominate your 2020 Vinnies CEO Sleepout location by choosing one of the following options from the relevant drop-down menu during the registration process: in your car, in your backyard (outdoors); or on your couch.  Each of these represents common forms of homelessness and can connect you with some of the realities of the men, women and children experiencing homelessness in Australia every night.

 3. This year, we also encourage you to make it a family event and involve your partner or children. Take this as an opportunity to let your family learn more about the issue. Wherever it is you choose to bunk down, your family can join you.

 4. This year you can pledge Vinnies Hours by volunteering your time to support Vinnies services and programs. We will let you know more over the next two weeks on how you can register your Vinnies Hours and what each act of kindness will be worth.

More details on the 2020 Vinnies CEO Sleepout, and each of the elements above, will be with you shortly but for now, we ask that you stay on this journey with us so that together we can make a difference to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Stay safe and thank you for your ongoing support.
