Let's teach our kids that making a difference is something we all can contribute to
I’m
participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
I can’t help
but reflect on a powerful moment I had with my then 5-year-old, Hunter. We were
walking down George St in Sydney, and we saw so many people sleeping on the
streets. Hunter, with his innocent curiosity, asked, “Why don’t the rich people
just give them money for a home and food?”
It hit me
hard – a simple solution to such a huge, global issue. But the reality is,
homelessness is far more complex than we can explain in one answer. It’s about
more than just money; it’s about dignity, support, and long-term solutions that
we all need to be part of.
On June 19th,
I’m doing my part to raise awareness and funds for Vinnies, so we can move
closer to a world where no one has to sleep on the streets. I hope we can teach
our kids that making a difference is something we all can contribute to.
