Lejo Ouwendyk

Managing Director at Kennerlys
Location: Perth

One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference

Did you realise that the 2018 CEO Sleepout is on June 21st -- the same day as our winter solstice?  This will be the shortest, darkest day of the entire year (and maybe one of the coldest).
My name is Lejo Ouwendyk, Managing Director of Kennerlys and as I unroll my sleeping bag for my eighth CEO sleepout and experience the dark, cold mid-year night again, spare a thought for over 100,000 Australians who sadly sleep rough every single night. Along with over 1,300 other CEOS, I want to break the cycle of homelessness and raise funds to provide these people with proper shelter, food, care and support to live a fulfilling life.
You would be surprised at the types of people who have found themselves homeless for a short or long period of time--many simply hitting a run of bad luck and many are families with children.

Family is important to Kennerlys. My company is an accounting and financial services firm that has built its reputation on providing quality service to many family-run businesses for decades. We have assisted generations of families with their accounting needs and we pride ourselves on fostering a 'family' culture with our staff and clients. So, it's natural that we want to help families and individuals get off the streets and back together in a warm, safe home and live a happy life.

Please help me end the homelessness cycle by making a donation.  Every amount helps and I encourage all my business and personal associates to contribute to a better community for all.

The Kennerlys family also supports charities and organisations such as the Australian Red Cross, Smith Family, Heart Kids WA, PMH Foundation, Starlight Children's Foundation and Awareness Cambodia.
