Participating in their 1st Vinnies CEO Sleepout
I work with homeless populations. One day I hope to run out of clients to see.
I love Australia and am so grateful my parents moved here when I was just 2 years old, and that I can call this home. I also watched them, no matter how little they had - always try their best to help others.
I truly believe that nobody in this beautiful country deserves to be homeless. Yet, every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness.
As a psychologist, I work first hand with these populations everyday. I hear details about peoples journeys, the challenges they've had with hunger and pain, intense trauma and abuse. I hear things that I believe no Australian should ever have to experience.
It’s through this process that everyday I’m driven to make a small difference in whatever capacity I can.
So this year - through our business Raceview Dental - I'm taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Homeless Australians.
For one night, I'll be sleeping outside in the cold in order to raise awareness about this issue.
It’s not about the one night of sleep for me. I know that it’s nothing compared to what people actually experience….but it’s about being able to raise awareness and also connect and collaborate with other like-minded people - so that we can do more together.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support.
