Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect
As Executive Director of Catholic Social Services Australia, I am honoured to participate in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout this year. At CSSA, we believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances. Our network of Catholic social service organisations across Australia works tirelessly to uphold the inherent value of each human person and contribute to the common good of our society.
Homelessness remains one of the most confronting challenges we face as a community. It strips away dignity, severs connections, and denies people their fundamental right to safety and security. Catholic Social Teaching reminds us that we are called to stand in solidarity with those experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage, recognising that we are all members of one human family.
By joining the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, I hope to raise both awareness and crucial funds to support the vital work of the St Vincent de Paul Society. While one night sleeping rough cannot compare to the daily reality faced by thousands of Australians, it offers a moment of reflection and connection to those whose struggles often remain unseen.
I invite you to join me in this mission of compassion and justice. Together, we can work towards a society where everyone has a place to call home and the opportunity to live with dignity.
To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support. Will you help me to reach my target? Donating $100 can make a huge difference to people who need it most.
