One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference

Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way. This year I'm again taking part in the Vinnies Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, I'll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.

As a union leader I am committed to social justice and protecting the rights of workers and I know how easy it can be to find yourself out of a job, fall on hard times and spiral into homelessness.

It would be unimaginable to have to live through a Sydney winter without a roof over your head and it’s important we all remember that there are now over 105,000 men, women and children in Australia who do so every year.

All money raised will go towards helping the many people experiencing homeless to find the warmth, safety and dignity that they desperately deserve. It only takes a moment to make a difference.

To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, I need your support. Will you help me to reach my target? Donating 50 dollars can make a huge difference to people who need it most.
