Participating in their 4th Vinnies CEO Sleepout
Every dollar you donate will make a whole lot of difference
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way.
I have participated in nearly every Vinnies CEO Sleepout since 2010. I am participating again this year to raise awareness and help people understand the realities of homelessness. It is a wicked problem for our society, but we can fix it if we work together.
As a Library CEO, I am very much aware of the critical role public libraries play providing safe places where everyone is welcome.
One of the things that libraries do like no other institution is to encourage reading and life long learning.
This year is the 50th anniversary of the publication of the Very Hungry Caterpillar. The publication date is the same day as my birthday - 20 March 1969. To mark this auspicious date I am going to bring some humour to proceedings.
If you help me reach my fundraising goal of $10,000 I will don a Very Hungry Caterpillar Suit and wear it at the CEO Sleepout!
Every dollar you donate will make a difference. Vinnies do amazing work on the ground every night of the year. Please join me in helping people who are doing it tough.
Please note as per last year I will match every donation you make dollar for dollar up to a total of $5,000.
So far this year I helped provide
Individual support programs
Funds raised over the years
Thank you to everyone that helped get me past the $1000 mark. This is the next installment of $500 to match future contributions.
It gives me great pleasure to release the moths from my wallet again and match your amazing contributions. Please keep giving. Cheers (and thank you) Chris
Credit card is getting a hammering this morning - love it! Please keep the donations coming:)
Final instalment of matching dollars from me. A big shout out to everyone who has helped get us to the halfway mark.

Chris, you're an inspiration! I'd love to help you reach your target and I'd love to help Vinnies support people who are struggling - they do an amazing job!
Awesome work and commitment Chris. This is such a serious problem here and around the world. No one should ever have to sleep rough, go without food or safety or freeze to death in the winter months. Whilst we work towards a fairer society these small contributions make a real difference.
