2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout

Thank you to all involved in the 2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout – what a night!

We sincerely thank our CEOs who experienced how tough just one night of sleeping rough can be. From the feedback we have received thus far we can tell how deeply this experience has impacted on you already and we hope to see you again next year.

Here’s just a snapshot of Melbourne’s 2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout held at Etihad Stadium on Thursday 16 June 2011.

In 2011 Melbourne held its annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout at Etihad Stadium with outstanding results:

• 157 CEOs slept rough for one night to experience what thousands of Victorians experience every night
• $548,678  raised to assist the Society’s homeless services in Victoria.

 2010 Vinnies CEO Sleepout

In 2010 Melbourne held its first Vinnies CEO Sleepout at Etihad Stadium with outstanding results:

• 116 CEOs slept rough for one night to experience what thousands of Victorians experience every night
• $408, 566 raised to assist the Society’s homeless services in Victoria.

These funds assisted:

• The ongoing provision of meals through the Ozanam Meal Service comprising Ozanam House and Ozanam Community Centre which provide on average 140 lunchtime meals per day to people who are homeless. In the 2009-2010 financial year, demand for the lunch service rose by around 7%
• Ozanam Community Centre and Ozanam House to continue to provide hot showers, access to clean clothing and blankets and medical, dental and eye care treatment
• The centres to continue providing mental health outreach, housing information and referral, alcohol and drug programs, client volunteer programs, women’s services, general support and educational activities
