Clothing
It is going to be a true winter’s night – cold and wet. Please bring some wet weather gear and make sure you wear warm, casual clothes. You may like to bring extra layers. We will provide a beanie and gloves. A room is available to store your bags. Please keep all valuables items on your person.
Bedding
Cardboard will be provided for you to sleep on or to build a shelter. Bring your own sleeping bag and a pillow (and torch). No airbeds, swags or luxury bedding items allowed. This event is about the experience with time for reflection.
Food
You can’t bring your own, sorry. Fred’s Van will be serving a basic meal of soup, bread rolls, tea and coffee. Breakfast will also be provided in the morning. Alcohol is strictly off limits.
Weather
This is an experiential event which introduces you to elements of sleeping rough. Regardless of the weather, the event will go ahead – so there are no excuses!
Arrival time
The event starts at 6.00pm. On arrival, please make your way to the registration desk. There will be ushers at the entrance to show you the way.
Cameras and video equipment
Vinnies CEO Sleepout participants may bring cameras and mobile phones (with or without camera functions) to the event. They are also able to bring small, hand-held video cameras along in order to film their own experience. However, participants are not able to bring along extra people to film on the night for them, unless these people are also registered for the event and satisfy the criteria for eligibility.
Please understand if you do bring these devices that they are your own responsibility. Vinnies cannot take any responsibility for participants’ belongings.
