SA Sleepout
In South Australia, the St Vincent de Paul Society helps those affected by the various stages of homelessness through the Homeless Persons Accommodation Services; Frederic Ozanam Housing Association; Refugee, Asylum Seeker and Migrant Services; Mental Health Support Service; Fred’s Van and Home Visitation program.
There are over 1000 people identified as homeless across the state. It is believed this is just the tip of the iceberg. How many others are “couch surfers” or just one short step away from being homeless?
Nearly half of Australia’s 105,000 homeless people are women and sadly, around thirty percent are children.
Most common reasons for homelessness in South Australia are family breakdown, unemployment, drugs, alcohol and domestic violence.
Please help us provide for those affected by and close to homelessness.
