Andrew Forrest Talks Homelessness Today
Andrew Forrest, CEO Fortescue Metal Group will be at the WACA today 10.30-11.15am to talk about homelessness to launch the 2011 Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
Andrew participated in the Sleepout last year and said: “It was certainly uncomfortable sleeping out for the 2010 CEO Sleepout, but not as uncomfortable as the thought of many of our fellow Australians who do this every night of the week. The Vinnies Sleepout was a great way to raise money for homeless Australians and more importantly, awareness for each person that has no other choice but to find a home on the streets.”
He will join Barry Felstead CEO, Burswood Entertainment Complex, Craig Comrie Executive Officer, Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA) and Dean Lee CEO Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre among others to put homelessness on the agenda at a typical boardroom meeting – except not in a usual office setting, but on the WACA oval, the same oval which will be their bed come Thursday June 16, 2011.
So far, thirty four business and community leaders have signed up to participate in the Sleepout and today they will aim to encourage other leaders to register to sleep out by logging on to www.ceosleepout.org.au
